Anime “Touken Ranbu Kai” episode 1 synopsis and advance cut released!

The TV anime “Touken Ranbu Kai -Kouden Burning Honnoji-” will be broadcast on TOKYO MX and BS11 from 23:00 on April 2, 2024 (Tuesday) for a total of 8 episodes. The synopsis and advance cut from the first episode of this work, “The Rotating Dream”, have been released.

The original idea is the PC browser and smartphone app game “Touken Ranbu ONLINE.”
A sword training simulation game in which the player takes on the role of a priest, leading a group of “sword men” who have transformed famous swords into warriors, and fight to protect history. Since DMM GAMES and Nitroplus teamed up and launched the service in January 2015, Touken Ranbu ONLINE, also known as Tourabu, has gained huge support and contributed to the nationwide sword boom. ・He has succeeded in numerous media mixes such as musicals, consumer games, plays, movies, and kabuki, and is taking the entertainment world by storm.

The script for the anime “Touken Ranbu Kai -Kouden Burning Honnoji-” is based on the first work of the stage play “Touken Ranbu”, which premiered in 2016, and has been writing and directing stage plays for many years. Kenichi Tasuemitsu is in charge of the script and series composition for this work as well. The voice actors from the original game “Touken Ranbu ONLINE” are in charge of character voices.

This time, ahead of the broadcast from April 2nd (Tuesday), the synopsis and advance scene photos of the first episode have been released, so be sure to check it out before the broadcast.

The main hall of Honnoji Temple is on fire – Sozo Samonji has had the same dream over and over again. One day, Yukimitsu Fudo, who newly manifests as a swordsman, claims to be “Oda Nobunaga’s most beloved sword.” Heshikiri Hasebe, a member of Sozo Samonji who has the same former owner, seems to have some thoughts about Fudo Yukimitsu’s words and actions…
